Lets be honest.  Everyone deserves an evening to feel special, and many of us do not get to experience it.  We live in a busy world, where getting away from it all is more of a pipe dream than a reality.  This is where the Bergie’s experience begins.  Bergie’s – The occasional place is dedicated to quality over quantity.  Our “occasional events” allow us to craft a unique experience every time you dine with us.  We believe that you deserve to have a one of a kind experience that builds memories.  Each event comes with a unique theme, and a unique menu.  You will taste incredible takes on traditional dishes, as well as amazing new dishes you have never had before.  It is time to  treat yourself to a Bergie’s Night!

 

The Journey

THE FIRST BERGIE'S EVENT
The first Bergie’s event was held at the Steeple Gallery in Monticello, Illinois on December 31st, 2015.  The New Years Eve event was a Prix Fixe menu(everybody gets the same thing), featuring Pan seared shrimp with spicy-honey aioli and micro greens, Onion Soup w/ garlic crouton and Gruyere cheese, Mixed greens with basil, mint and an orange vinaigrette dressing, and Slow Roasted Prime Rib on Smashed Red Potatoes w/ Seared Asparagus as the main entree.  The event was an overwhelming success and kicked off the quazi-monthly theme that is now Bergie’s.
BERGIE'S FINDS A HOME
In April of 2016, Bergie’s moved onto the Square in Monticello, Illinois.  After a month of renovations, Bergie’s held their first event in the new building on April 30th of 2016.  The former diner was revamped into a fine dining establishment that can hold more than 50 people. Bergie’s new home is the host of their quazi-monthly events and is also available for your next special event!

Pete Bergstrom has perfected the art of blending familiar tastes and culinary excellence to create unique creations that can only be experienced.  Each time you experience Bergie’s you will find creative twists on your favorite foods, while also guiding your taste buds into brand new culinary worlds.  Every trip to Bergie’s is a journey you cannot find anywhere else!
